I will support this cause. pick a place that will work. I'm sure there are many others in our group that will do what they can too. Start a list of things that are needed that you want to send and a list for people to donate things to sale. Just a thought.

Id be interested in another virtual tourney but If youre trying to raise money/participation why would you want to limit it to 4 locations? doesnt make sense.
I thought the reason that you make a tourney virtual is so that more people can participate no matter their geographic location.
To even further expand the interest why not open it up to other species. The point system is already set up for AOTY. Why not use it?
big fish/big points wins bragging rights and the victims get the cash

I apologize I am not familiar with the Virtual tourney, seems like this might be the best route, we are still discussing where and when, including the format.. Thanks for all that showing their support.. this what makes us all different than others the best possible way! We will be posting the info this week.

I was thinking more about a perch derby (non-kayak event) in HMB. Camping over at HMB State Beach. Just not sure when exactly the perch are most active. Advice from the Perch experts would be appreciated.

Darius,

I think the virtual tourney is the way to go.  Here is the idea:

Utilize the current AOTY format, but in an AOTD, AOTWK(week), AOTWKD (weekend) time frame.  ( I think you should set AOTWK format starting this saturday, oct 24th 12 midnight through next saturday october 31 at 11:59pm.)  Virtual tourney, pics req'd,

Add in one fish - White Seabass at the same rate of striped bass (5 pts per inch) its a tough enough fish to catch that adding it in should not make a difference, but if someone catches one, it should be worth a placing.

Get a small prize pool together of donated items.  nothing too expensive to prevent people from potentially cheating (although none of us expect that to happen of course).

Set a minimum buy in of $5/person, with the allowance of someone to donate more if they want.

Set someone in charge of collecting the money, either by check, cash or paypal.  There are ways to receive paypal with no fees if done properly.

100% of net proceeds go to the charity of choice.

let the winner decide his prize out of the prize pool, 2nd place chooses his prize, etc.

See if we can get bill to approve the use of the NCKA name.  make sure we have a waiver in place.
