  Thanks for the advice Dan, I appreciate it.  I usally do fish more current, but yesterday it wasn't working and it was that back water that at least had some small ones!  I will check out the other areas you mentioned tonight and try something different next time!  I also like 10 feet of water but I do have some Master Craft lures that will rattle and bounce off of 17 feet as well!   It seems like sometimes it is so easy they will grab anthing that moves.  A guy fishing the banks near the ramp said they seem to be hitting shad best right now, but my experience is that stripers have a great nose for bait and will attack just about anything.
