Hi Joel,

Just got back from the Chetco River and it wasn't happening. Mostly jacks were in the river being caught. All the big fish were caught a week before Craig (Tarpen 120) and I arrived.

We decided to do some exploring and made are way to the mouth of the smith river in CA where a 61lbs. King was caught. Met three ladies fishing, so i had to ask them where all the salmon were? The one fisher woman (Rees) Philipino woman told me that their boyfriends were up river fishing the Sand hole, about 3-4miles-up and they should be comming back with a report. 30min latter they came back with two big kings and news that there was a bought a hundred people fishing the hole and everone hooking up. So we decided to go and find this hole after getting some vage directions. Craig and I finally found the Sand hole and started to fish. Second cast and bam hooked into a king, but lost it due to all the line snagged up to mine. Same with Craig. Bottom line, We didn't land any fish.

Here is some ok pic's

HI Chuck,

Depending on how much rain they get up there. I might do a suicide run one weekend. Next couple of weeks.

Moore info to be gathered!

Thanx Joel for the post

:smt006  I would love to go up there and give that a try.  Looks like so much fun.  I am free on Wednesdays and Sat/ Sun if anybody wants some company.  I have a Toyota Tundra with racks and I will drive.
