I went to Hudgeman slough on skaggs island with a friend a few days ago.  This is in sonoma county.  We launched at skaggs island boat launch.  He was exploring for near future duck hunting and I was trying to catch a fish.  I have a new to me kayak ( hobie sport).  We pedaled and paddled almost to the napa river.  It was a nice day near the top of the tide.  I trolled a swim bait and rattle trap trying for some striper.  I had no luck but got a great leg workout. leaving the parking lot we found out we were locked in (oops!).  Sure enough there was a small sign that stated you had to have a key given by some government organization.  Now to be honest sometimes I dont read every sign at the entrance of every parking lot.  This place looked well developed and was right next to some other lot  and runway for people flying remote control planes.  There was a bit of activity around so it was not in my head to think of needing a key.  There was even a mosquito abatement guy who talked to us and left right before we did.  we left last.  So at the gate we called the number on the sign, No luck.  We thought about what to do.  we called again,  Luck.  A woman answered.  I told her our problem.  She was real nice.  Luckily it was only 3:30 pm.  They were still at the office.  Luckily there was a combo lock on the gate , as well as many key type.  she had to make a call to get the combo, called me back , and we were free.  Moral of the story.  Read every sign at every location there is one.  period   In my defense I have never encountered a public lot that had keyed access.  Now I know

What is the combo?
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
