I hit Paradise two weeks ago with my boy Monte. It was his first time fishing Paradise from the yak. The water temp was just below 70 degrees and there were baitballs blacking out our FFs at times. Within the first two hours of fishing I had 4 drive-bys and got bitten off by the biggest halibut I've ever hooked. Monte landed a 21.5"er which was obviously released and he landed a 31". Later in the day we would both miss another bite each.

I went back out Saturday and the water was only 58 degrees and there were no baitfish to be seen. One of the party boats pulled up, made two drifts for nada, then sped away towards AI. Nothing doing for me, at all.

However, it was good to see Tom and Shannon, and Eric B. out there for a bit. With tomorrow's storm coming in I don't see there being much of a chance for the water to warm back up any time soon. Looks like this banner year might be coming to a close finally.

Good to see you out there, Dustin.

I paddled my butt off and got nothin...  took a bbq break, and back at it for another couple hours for nothing again.

The wind was really rippin thru the gaps in the hills.

Only saw the Blue Angels once.  A huge speed boat came WAY too close to me, twice, doing about 70.  Why do they ONLY come out on the worst day you could possibly choose to speed around the Bay?

My buddy Mike pointed out a fish along the wall as we were packing up the yaks...  It was a salmon, probably 10-12lbs...  swimming along the wall just below the surface.  Trippy.

Well, you only catch fish if you are fishing, so WT try it before the weather turns.

That's cool Eric. Years ago I saw one also cruising right on the surface there while leading a day trip of touring kayaks. A seed was planted in my brain....kayak...fish......hmmmm

LOL. Yup, Mr. Eelmaster. The same guy who caught a keeper hali the first time I ever took him to Berkeley Pier. This was his first time fishing from a yak (used mine...didn't even use his own) in the bay.

Good to "hear" from ya, Phil.
