Sorry for the late report, but there isn't much to tell. The water was still a bit warm and it seemed that only the folks fishing with Powerbait from shore were able to consistently score fish. A few fish were caught by others on their yaks using in-line spinners, including a nice smallie, but overall the lake hasn't really turned on for trout yet.

But, with this rain I'll bet that this weekend will be great. I may head out there this Sunday to check it out.

Thanks for the info. I went there about a month ago on a Friday with my son. The PB's were just ripping thru the lake all day. Made yaking/fishing very unpleasant.

Even this technique wasn't working Sunday. Lots of fish on the finder but nobody was catching much. I talked with a couple of the power boat guys that I know have the lake dialed in, and they were having the same troubles. Just an off day.

did you try the dynamite? i find on a slow day it really helps. At the least it makes for interesting conversation with the game wardens

If it's raining, how do you get past the inspection point?

For kayaks, as long as the inside of your boat is dry, and the outside isn't dirty then they let you in.
