There is a disturbing trend in American politics in that more and more people (mostly the right) hole up amongst themselves on Rush, Fox, etc.

I so Hate politics...  But, it is hard to escape....  Religion and Politics...  WAR

For 1000s of Years,  when will we learn....

Every God Damm Station I work... FOX News... Guys Screaming at the TV...

OBAHMA!!!!! :smt076   Makes me Ill... I really Think Politics and Religion should be banned from the work Place,

 and fishing sites...  :smt002

But, I have a choice not to read this so
"Poo Poo" on me, and let others do what they want...     I don't consider myself a Bleeding Heart Liberal, but I'm not a Robatron Racist Fox news Hound either....

Why can't the Public see after all the corruption and useless so called leaders like Palin, say enough is enough and take this country Back???

Obama, I voted for him, but did not expect much, Ya have to be a crook to even get invited to the party...

The Country is run, and has been run by Half Crook naked InBred Gazziolionairs ( Not a pretty sight  :smt009 ) who have no need for Morality or care for the plight of the common man or their sons and daughters.

It's all about power and ego...

Divide and Conquer of the masses is the cure for their power.

Politicians are just Dirty men who feed at the floor of their table lapping up scraps that these Self proclaimed MegaGods throw them.... :tongue2:
OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!!!!

Ok, off the HST rant...  :smt033

But, what most disturbs me is that quote up top...  there is no thought in this country,  only Hate and Fear,  the left side is just as bad in their own way...

what will it take to bring people together?  Terrorist?  911 put us all on the same page, Problem is a Rouge admin...
( or their masters ) took the Ball and ran for it's own agenda...
Well count on another attack...  and the way were handling that coming situation, prepare for many to die, and your lives to change even further forever...

Not that Obama is screwing it up, it's been screwed up and he is following the same road to doom.  We need to secure this country... Period,  lots of bad people all over the world, and for some reason, they want to hurt us...

Were divided, That needs to stop,

Once we start getting hit hard by these nut jobs, Again..:smt011 We will wake up,

Tactical Nukes to Afghanistan and Pakistan out of Frustration,

Letting Israel turn Iran into a Glass factory....

Instead of present war policy which is to ask for permission to shoot at combatants.....

 No Happy Medium Here Baby,

We run on Emotion and Instant Gratification...  :smt001 :smt013

Forget that over 3000 people died and changed your country forever,,,  :smt001

" Don't Shoot at Combatants on Holy Ground...."   :smt018

 Just Got Bombed .... ????   :smt013

Heat Foreign Country up to 1800 Degrees and Rename it...

 Welcome to  " Turn-to-Glass-Astan.... "    :smt039

Borders, and taking a renewed spirit of what this country is all about,

  That's what we need...

I believe that we will prevail through all, but it's going to Hurt...

and out of that, we may find what we have lost, but it's going to cost...

Just like it has in the past.....  When will we Learn.....

And Palin at the Helm...

No Thank You,

but, Overall, it would probably be the same outcome if Micky Mouse were up there,

and would make much more sense....   Thanks for the Rant....  :smt006

Hey guys, how about if we spend our time keeping it all about kayakfishing, diving, maybe a little surfing thrown in. Palin's got nothing to do with kayakfishing. If you want to rant about politics there are other websites for that.

When the next elections come along remember my words. Partisan politics right vs left & left vs right only serve to divide us kayakfishermen when the real issues, MLPA etc, that concern us are divisive enough.

I''m asking every member to refrain from posting up or including partisan references or slams in their posts unless it is directly related to kayakfishing. Example #1. Mr.Benninghoven A1+**shole. Thanks guys, jim

In the Bearing Sea are two islands, Big and Little Diomede Island. One is owned by Russia and the other is essentially a part of Alaska. The distance between these islands is three miles. I'd say you could easily see Russia from Alaska on a clear day....or even one not so clear.

So what, exactly, is your point? Are you saying this represents some kind of experience in foreign affairs?

What would be the "appropriate" education needed to deal with the complications of the world and the U.S.? Would it be better to have an Ivy League law degree or a B.S. in communication from the lowly University of Idaho?

Given that the Presidential oath is to preserve, protect and defend the constitution, the Ivy League law degree followed by 12 years of teaching constitutional law works for me. The BS in Communications took 6 years and 5 colleges to complete. I'm not sure what your trying to accomplish in contrasting "Ivy League" against "lowly" U of Idaho, but it smells of class baiting.

As for experience, would you think it would be better to have someone that was the Governor of a state (meaning that someone had actual executive experience) or someone that quit the Senate after two years to run for president?

Well, first, let's clarify and correct a bit. Palin had less than two years experience in that seat when tapped by McCain, with her previous experience being the mayor of Wasilla. Obama was a State senator for seven years prior to his election to the US Senate, and he quit that position *after* he won the presidential election. So you add it up and decide which is more relevant, and then consider their education.

I'm not saying that Palin was a wise choice for McCain or that she would be someone that I would trust a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Your not? Really?

What I am saying is you can rag on the woman all you like for being a quitter

Actually, I didn't. She moved on to greener pastures and, as she said, avoided paying defense costs for ethics investigations. Probably best for all concerned, but taken in total I don't think it speaks particularly well of her.

Quote
but maybe you should get your facts and geography straight before you rag on her for other things.

Well, as far as I can see only your facts were corrected in this exchange. And, as best as I can tell, the geography was irrelevant.

Democracy, debate, discussion, compromise--all of the founders principles they built this nation with and what made this nation great are just a big waste of time--people should all think a like and do alike and dress a like and always agree in public about everything.

If Palin ever comes up with any original thought or stops fabricating lies for attention, I'll listen.  I listen to many republican leaders and even agree with them from time to time. Until then, I'll treat her as the quitter clown she is.

Me too, I get to hear many views I wouldn't otherwise hear, being a Eurotrash "liberal". Even during my 8 years in the US I worked mostly with foreigners and weirdos. Admittedly my current views usually just end up being reinforced (eg; gay marriage, healthcare) but occasionally I do start to see some sense in what the other side is saying (eg; gun control). Either way it's good to hear the other side out.

My point is you can see Russia from Alaska, which is the entry line for nearly every Palin Joke. No inference of experience in foreign affairs on my part...only yours. But as long as you have brought up the topic, Obama picked Biden for his foreign affairs experience as his was sorely lacking. Being as Biden has the opinion Iraq should be partitioned, I feel much better about his qualifications. Don't you?

Preserving and protecting the constitution has nothing to do with the troubles in the U.S. and the world though.
His views of the constitution include wondering why there isn't some form of wealth redistribution therein. Changing the constitution is hardly protecting and defending. In point of fact, Obama was a visiting lecturer and not a tenured professor. His law license expired in 2002.

Being in the Illinois legislature isn't exactly something I would hang my hat. Especially given the number of times Obama voted "present" while there. Do you think Obama was effective in the Senate while he ran for prez for two years? Can you name any bills he authored?

Just remember everytime you make the IMO mistake of going partisan political on here you are driving a wedge between yourself and a percentage of your kayakfishing brothers that doesn't need to be driven.

There are plenty of other websites where you can rail against the other railers.

I love discussion of anything kayakfishing, including the politics of fishing which includes villians of all kinds, but as soon as the partisan slams, banner ads, cardboard cutouts, etc start up, all I see on the screen is a fresh & steaming pile of crap. I start disliking fishermen that otherwise command my respect, and I don't want to continue reading let alone participate.

I'm glad for you guys from both sides of the seesaw that feel as I do on this subject. The rest of you guys may be begging for a break from politics come next election cycle and hopefuly NCKA will be that break. jim
