Well. . . I made the drive to the Klamath starting 2am Wednesday morning. Got to the river and found my way down to the Native American launch below the Requa Inn. The tide was on the way in, so I trolled around the estuary for a couple of hours, nuthin'. Beached at the spit and waited with the rest of the guys for the tide to drop and create the flow we love. Got in the line up and started tossing. I ended up landing three native steelhead and , of course, letting them go. But no Sammies for me. About a dozen were landed.
Next day went up to Klamath Glen, Blakes Riffle, and fished hardware for a few hours. Still no luck. Maybe three fish were beached during the time I was there. Then everyone headed for the beach again so I did a paddle out, once again trolling. Never saw anyone in a boat either hook or land a fish.
Fished through the lowering tide again. Maybe three or four fish landed during this tide change. Pretty damn slow. And this is with over 100 guys, most of whom know what they are doing.
Drove another 6 1/2 hours home. Tired. Dejected.
Going to wait till it rains, then go again.

Nice try and thank you for the detailed report.

There are NO guarantees, that's for sure.
