Fished in front of lighthouse point , mostly around yellow can and also 3/4 mile out. Not even a nibble. Using dead fresh sardine while working a fish trap on second rod. Pb'er said he caught a couple (?) about 3/4 mile out.
Saw a dead 25 #  mola mola  on the way back to harbor.

They had one (maybe still do) at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Try their site. Or maybe Julie Packard can send you a pic--she loves kayak fishers. :smt044  :smt044  :smt044

No more cameras for a while. I've ruined 3 out there due to salt water. They were cheap E-bay purchases tho.
I was surprised that the mola's skin was like  a sharks. It had about a four inch wide bite out of it's rear end. Maybe post-mortem, probably not. It looked healthy except for being dead.

Mola molas are trippy fish!

I just read that "the Cali sea lions will maul them on occassion in the monterey peninsula, repotedly the sea lions like to eat the molas internal organs, or just for sport."

Molas are cool

Didn't know Mola Mola is another name for Sunfish.  Just found out by Google it.  Here is a cool clip from you-tube
