  Wednesday, I got to go on my first chartered sport fishing trip thanks to my wife.  I went out on Tahoe sport fishing based at the Ski-run marina.  We (There were 4 others ) left around 1320hrs, and headed straight across the lake to a point just north of Tahoe City.  (Sanddollar point? I can't remember the name for sure) We were going for lake trout, on the bottom. Weather was perfect! high 80's OTW! Our boat was #4 in the fleet, and its captain was following a ridge at between 120 feet down to 180 feet.  We were mooching a minnow behind flashers on a 3-way with 8oz.  Bouncing the bottom and lifting no more than a 1 foot.
  My first hit came at around 14:30hrs, but the crew didn't think I got hit, but I reeled up anyway and yes, my trooper minnow was gone.   The Penn linc counter reel I happened to be using was trashed.  While reeling up, the spool was grinding on something inside, but I was able to get lure up & down (Just had to work at it) My first fish came on the boat at 15:31 and went (Guestimated at 3.5 lbs by crewmenber)

My second fish came about 40 minutes later, and initionally it felt like it had some weight to it, certinally more than my first fish, and by loking at the pole bent over, the crewman was thinking the same as well.   Well to our surprise, it was much smaller!   I think it just faught harder than my first.  No picture of it on the boat, as the guys wanted to get me fishing again ASAP.

  I got a shot of both fish when I got back to my room just befor putting in freezer.

I think my second fish was in or near 180' Forearms were gettin sore crankng on that worn out Penn.
Not too long after I got back down to the bottom and started mooching again, one of the other guys hooked up and brought in one just smaller than my first.  Wind picked up, and Captain said it was time to head in.
here are a few more shots of the trip;

Boat ride across the lake.

My fish cleaned and ready for the bag.

Glassy water before the wind.
