Hit the Delta on Friday.  Was originally planning to hit the water by 6, but I left home late and somehow got lost on the way to Tiki Lagun.  Plan was to troll for stripers but I probably should have just targeted bass.

I trolled from Tiki down to Mildred without even a sniff.
This probably looks familiar to you Jeff:

I think the stripers just arent down there yet.  Got to the big opening at Mildred and casted a RatLTrap for this little LM puppy.  He's not much to brag about but he would have been a keeper at 12.01".  At least he kept the skunky monkey off my back.

Trolled back and saw some big explosions.  Not really sure what they were about, but three spaced about 15 minutes apart.  Maybe something going on at the Navy installation at Rough and Ready Island?  If you look closely at this pic you can see the cloud from the explosion in the middle.

The new adventure went fine, not quite as fast as I imagined so I will be trying to speed it up this week.  The seat didn't work at all, kept sliding down.  trolling was easy to do at least, but need to get the rod holders on there so i can see them.

The water looks nice.  The Stripers should be there anytime now.  Thanks for the report and pictures Ben.

How was the PB traffic? Did you paddle around back to Tiki?

when are you paddling around the delta next time? Normally, I'm in Stockton in the weekends.

i paddled some of the way back but used the pedals most of the trip to get comfortable with the adventure.

i went straight back to tiki from mildred - i originally planned to go around but i had to get home to prep for half dome and i had started so late (got on about 8?)

btw, yakima boatloaders = awesome.  so much easier to load a boat solo.

i dont plan on hitting the delta again until october, booked solid until then.

PB traffic was light to moderate since it was a friday, mostly bass boats which don't bother me since they dont throw up much of a wake.  the big cabin cruisers are the ones that rock you good. I imagine it would be busier on Saturdays.

Didn't get skunked at least Ben. Did you just buy yourself another boat? Brand new? Anyhow, it seems you have room for the Scotty flush mount rod holder.
Goodluck on the pimpin the new ride and make sure to take pictures to share.

I miss that scenery, I haven't been out there in forever it feels like. Glad to see there is still at least one fish there! Hope to catch you out on the water someday soon!
