Worst Kayak store

I bought my last P13 from REI. It had a bad leak and took on water. I returned it to the Sac store, they took it back and ordered me another...no blame, questions or hassles.

I stopped by the REI used equip sale this morning and there was the kayak I returned. Had it marked down to $429. It was gone when I returned from my bike ride

Was the leak disclosed?  I'm a big fan of REI, and if it wasn't, I've lost a lot of respect for them.  They could potentially put somebody in great danger.

I didn't see anything on it mentioning the leak. It may have been on the tag.
All the boats had a big black marker X on the bow and stern. Sold used, as is.

Yeah... that place sucks eggs. I'll never buy anything from them let alone set foot in that f'n store.

It bums me out all the people that are new to kayaking, and A.S is their first introduction to the sport. 

I wish I owned a Kayak shop, with a Ranger boat dealership on the side.

I am a big fan of the REI used gear sale and as it always state 'as is'. To be honest a leak could have been something as easy as screwing in the pole holders or tightening some straps. I buy a lot of things from this sale and can always seem to fix most items and I research it enough and feel comfortable that I can. Did you know where the leak was coming from? REI is still one of my favorite places to be merchandise since they have the customer service I have seen.

My gf bought a used one there this summer They made fell really uncomfortable there. Not planning on going back. The people at american river took really good care of me .
