Nice of you Doug. There is a memorial at Capitol Park that has stayed with me to this day. A tribute to Medical Staff serving in that war. It really had a direct effect on me. Don't go there unprepared as I was. Again Thanks Doug.

Strike the comment about me saying I was interested in going to watch the movie.  This is why  I don't often (i.e., never) go to the movies anymore.

Looking back, prolly had just as good a chance of getting shot in that NCKA-only crowd as among the general theatre-going population!!   

AND the added bonus for me personally is that if we can keep it MO, I'll know who I'm telling to "Turn off that GD phone and STFU!!"

BUT, the justification for renting an entire theater holds as true today as it was then, maybe even more so!

  Very powerful movie!  During quiet times on screen, one would have been able to hear a pin hit the floor, it was that quiet in the theater!

Frank, I took care of a number of combat medics: For sure they lived through some of the hardest experiences.  They saw the worst, desperately tried to save others, and sometimes felt compelled to do things that they have forever regretted.

Hell of a movie, I was lucky enough to be around special forces in Iraq at FOB McHenry back in 2005. I first wondered why there were people in uniform with facial hair and with full auto weapons. It's good to see a movie come out about the men and women that serve and have civilians see what they take for granted as our brothers and sisters are overseas. You don't ever hear or see about the missions that go on over there on the news.

Yeh, you never really hear about them because they are not doing what they do to take credit.  I remember viewing "Act of Valor" and after the credits they listed all the seals that had paid the ultimate sacrifice since 911--there were sixty names!

They really don't want to be known. For many reasons we all can understand.

Looking forward to seeing this one.
