Hooked up with my buddy Joe, and a couple of clients at Caspar.  When we got there it was flat with a small wind buff, but it began building immediately.  When we got near the outside, it was too big to leave the cove, and the ends of the cove were a MESS.  We fished our cabby hole for a bit, and we both got a legal cabby in the first 45 minutes.  Joe's came fist and was about 17", mine was a few minutes later and around 20".

Joe with his cabby...

Overall it was SLOW, with just the occasional gopher or china dink.  A bit later I foul hooked a blue about 4" long.  I sent Jr. back down and deadsticked it a few feet off of the bottom.  After only a few minutes, the rod loaded and line started leaving.  After a short struggle, the fish let go.  Doh!  I reeled in and saw a seriously shredded rockfish.  Figured what the heck and sent it back down.  After just a few seconds fish on again.  Landed a nice gamey under-ling around 22 inches.

Action remained slow.  I eventually foul hooked another dinky blue.  Sent him down too.  Again, after a short drift he got stuffed.  I fought the fish for a few minutes and it came unbuttoned.... :smt013 .  Dropped him again. Drifted for about 5 minutes and it got snagged. Pulled on the snag and it pulled back!!!  Woohoo!  This one was a hog and had the rod loaded and line zooming.  After a brief battle it too came unbuttoned.   :smt013  :smt013  :smt013  Just wasn't my day.

Tried to get out a bit later and it was NOT happening.  The big swell showed and it was rocking in the 12-14 foot range...yeehaw!  Called it a day.

Took the cab home and made this...http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2033  REAL tasty.  One dumb cab fed the whole crew!
