This is probably not of interest to most of you, but since I know Sean and Jen I thought I'd post it here to spread the word. This is serious North Sea Kayaking stuff not for our open-deck fishing boats--they play in the GG tidal races for fun but you can find classes for you if your are at an intermediate level and interested in sea kayaking, kayak surfing, or coaching.

From their site: "The venue is one of the most spectacular in the world – just under the Golden Gate Bridge. The dates are planned to coincide with strong spring tides, creating exciting conditions for training.  There will be 20+ coaches on-site with upwards of 10 classes offered each day.  This years theme is Seamanship and classes will cover a range of topics like rock gardening, surf zone and navigation as well as official ACA and BCU classes and assessments."

I know Sean and Jen both and they are very skilled coaches and sea kayakers--I've been taught by both of them. Jen is the only person in the US to achieve the BCU 5 Star Sea Kayak Coach Level--and that is saying something. Sean is a British National Champion and holds several world records in kayaking.

This sounds sick! New goal set! Time to step it up. Nice picture btw, with waves like that i'm not sure how well the shot would come out haha. Nice post bro!

Here are some more to whet your appetite if you like this kind of thing ( I do). I have a great video of Sean pitch poleing in a tidal race off Wales: the kayak stands straight up on end in the wave for a few seconds and he looks over at the camera with that kind of "o sh*t" look before it pitches forwards upside down. He is so calm during the whole thing it's amazing--I'd have a wet dry suit myself. I'll see if I can get permission from director/producer Justine Curgenven to publish it here.

Siiiiiiiiick. Man that looks insanely fun. The 3rd one down i think is epic. That ship in the background going up the wave. Great pictures, thanks for posting them. That must be a adrenaline rush of a lifetime and a helluva workout.  :smt044
