Went out last night for an hour right before dark in the boat chasing stripers, still a ton of small schoolies, very abundant but not the ones I am looking for. I have a few pics I will upload a little later. Water is still in the high 70's, gotta drop about 5 degrees and it will be on! Cant wait for topwater time! I will be hitting the delta very sunday night for the next 3 weeks looking for mama!

No Special regs on night fishing, except make sure you are visible :smt005 :smt005 :smt005 lights lights lights are definitely a must, I heard some fatal incidents on boat to boat, even at night they are doing zoom zomm! be careful..

The safest place to striper fish at nite is Discovrey Bay IMO. Its a no wake zone and the bays are large. Stripers Pile in when the bait is there in the fall. If you are on the water at nite you must use lights. Plus there are bass and catfish too. Let me suggest catching 2in to 3in bluegills for bait you wont be sorry. Good luck.

Reelfish, I assume bluegills are legal bait there?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Bluegills are legal to use as bait if caught on the same body of water do not get bluegill somewhere and use them for bait, thats illegal, again if the bluegill caught on the same body of water they are definitely legal bait...

True, and they're readily available pretty much anywhere in the delta. Great bait . . . but that's a secret.  :smt002

Same report for the bay in Marin. I fished from shore last Sat. and found a handful of schoolies but no keepers. I'll be out again this Sunday evening and Monday morning hoping for something bigger.
Be the guide.

The Delta is fair game but SF Bay is not. Here's the reg if you want to take a look:

                                        Fin fish — General
27.56. Take General. Except as otherwise provided, there are no closed seasons, closed hours or minimum size limits on fin fish in the Pacific Ocean including all saltwater bays except that in San Francisco Bay between the Golden Gate Bridge and the Carquinez Bridge and in saltwater tributaries to the bay within the area bounded by Interstate 80 and Highways 17, 101 and 37 finfish may not be taken between one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise except from shore or piers.
Be the guide.
