I went to Bandon, Oregon to visit a friend and we got out on an Albacore charter.  The Bandon Bar is really rough but luckily we managed to get out.  We found the Albacore about 30 miles out in 63 degree water.  There were lots of schools of jumping fish but we only managed to boat 38 of them.  There were 10 of us fishing.  The same boat (The Prowler) got 115 Albacore with 7 anglers last week.

I was in Bandon around the 4th of July.  We went up to Charleston and they were killing the albacore then. It was great for us because we had lots of free crab bait.   Just out of Charleston there is a beach called Sunset Cove.   There were three guys out on Hobies and they were tearing up the rockfish.   It is a beautiful place to paddle a kayak.

Sunset Bay , really nice little bay although contact with the water was prohibited in mid July thanks to an E-Coli outbreak . Dirty little stream going through the campground was the culprit ! Of course we did not go down to the water until after we had already paid for 3 nights camping , according to the ranger this is a frequent problem ! Damn , even the dog had to stay off the wet sand , beautiful place otherwise . Did well there last year on crabs and rockies .
