Fished from the Cay marina over to the park pier and back starting 9:30 a.m. and finishing 2:30 p.m. Amazing conditions with just a breath of wind. Had some shiners that turned up nothing, then ran into Areal (sp? sorry...) from the NCKA board by Paradise park. He loaded me up with perfect feisty smelt. Within 10 minutes had a hanger on the line, but didn't sink iron and fish slipped away. Got another bite on the paddle back using a flasher setup. Massacred the smelt. Not my day for fish, but killer paddle, and good to meet another board guy. The fish are there, at least.

Keep it up and you'll hook up for sure. Unsuccessful reports are as useful as successful ones so thanks for posting.

Hey it was nice meeting you dude. Glad my smelt produced at least a bite. I had several takers but none of them stuck. The end results were just a couple scratched up smelt. I got hit one at the pilings north of pier and ywice in fron of the nice beach house south of the pier. The weather and water conditions were perfect again. Got off the water at 430pm.

Thanks for the report, hope to get out there this weekend even though it may be big boat crowded. Then again maybe Tomales would be a better choice? Will check the hook up board to see if others are thinking the same thing/
