abu garcia 5600 ambassador

i seemed to have lost the nut that holds on my handle and i seems to be stripped. does anyone know if i can replace the shaft or does the reel just need to be replaced or any other suggestions. i really love this reel and it wasnt cheap so any suggestions on how to fix it would be great . thanks

I stripped the shaft on a C4 6501 changing the handle.  Shaft can be replaced. I had the guys at FW in Sac do mine.

yeah i was thinking i was just gonna have to bring it someone and have them do it now does anyone know what those shafts cost and how much it is to have it done

Look for a guy named Alan Tani on this site.

He's a reel guru, and will get your reel working right again. I don't know what the cost might be, but you can box the reel, send it to him, and he'll do right by you.

Do it yourself it's easy if you can't get it back together then send it to Alan

 

 
That reel, if Alan does the work, will come back BETTER than brand new!  I think he has something against the stock drag system in these reels You won't be dissapointed!

Alan is your man. I gave him two Abu's a 5600 and 6500 he did his magic and they have been great. He'll charge you for parts and some minimal 'service' the cool think is he'll re do any reel that he has done if there is an issue free of charge.
