Fished high tide this morning, caught a bunch of diaper stripers, and one 6 pound LMB.  Would have let him go, but hooked it super deep, so fish tacos for dinner. Might head back out there this evening to see if I can get some stripers.

Hey Montana, where did you launch from and what did you land the fish on? The Delta stripers and LMB I've caught were all on live minnows and mudsuckers. Just curious, thanks

I usually fish jumbo minnows.  Today I was pulling J9 broken back and a large shallow black/silver rapala.  Lots of action.  Usually do that until I mark bait balls, then drop down a minnow.  Too cheap to buy bait today.

Thanks for the report and the information.  I have to work tomorrow but might head down to the Port of Sac Monday to check it out.   I have my fishing gear spread out from one end of the state to the other but I think I do have some Rapalas here.

Shasta, shoot me a pm if you are coming, I will join.  Fish tacos, striper and LMB, I whip up a beer batter, then make my fish taco sause that is on the recipe board.  I hate eating alone, and no chicks around to share with, so I went to my neighbor and he and I pigged out, drank beer and watched movies.  Good stuff.  Amazing how fast you can make friends at an apartment complex when you have hot fish, taco gear, and a case of beer!

I have my kids this weekend David, probably taking them local, and the state fair.  Over Laborday we are heading to Dillon's there are a lot of friends going there, and it is a good place for the kids to chill out on the beach.

Thanks I did not make it today.   The wife had other plans.   I did drive down to the river around Freeport and saw one boat come in with a 26” striper.  I do plan on heading out tomorrow morning to go for a cruise.   I have to work tomorrow night but as long as I am back home by about noon for a nap I will be fine.
