Rode up with great company and fishing buds, Kevin (brdopry), and Martin (Martianfish) at 3:00 am.  Met up with Harold and Andy (baintnbeer) at undisclosed area near Fort Ross at 6:00 am. The water looked good as the sun came out, but we could see in the distance that the wind was blowing from the north. We hit the water and fished Kevin's secret reef spots - the fish bite was hit or miss, and would turn on and off every half hour or so. There was also a strong Northward drift that was not helping with the kelp snags. The water flattened out surprisingly real nice around 10 am and stayed that way untill the wind came howling in around 12:30. I landed two hefty Verms, two keeper Cabs, and a bunch of China's to boot. Harold came away as our winner for the day with a giant Ling, not sure of the measurements, but Im sure he will post them up soon. Andy caught an awesome verm and a huge for the area, Olive, way to go Andy! Kevin and Martin, caught their share of everything from sand dabs, to verms and cabs. It was another awesome day on the water and I can't wait for next time!! Pictures to follow.

There really arent too many secrets about the Ft area. Its been fished hard and heavy for alot of years. It does though give up quality fish consistently. I hope Harold looked into that lings gut for his future bait. Usually there is a nice octopus in there or part of one. Looks like a great day on the water. Just goes to show the weather man doesnt get it right all the time. Congrats.

WTG guys.
I fished Anchor Bay for two days, Wed and thurs. Caught a bunch of bottom fish, but nothing like those you caught, so put them all back. Guess the biggest was a "Black" of about three pounds. Fought the wind most of the time out and lost lots of jigs to the kelp.
Guess I'll try Fort ross next time. Jeez!
