Thanks to all who offered kudos, but the real kudos go to Eric, the Abking, for; having fortitude, superior ethics, friendship, stewardship, being a provocator of the "real". You are a creative and ripping, one of a kind man. You, are my  friend. Your ability and need to spread the gospel is felt by all who see your work. The video laid it all out, the physical, spiritual, and the simple quest for adventure.

Nice fish and ab. Just a thought - does anyone know how lingcod fair after being netted? I know it can kill halibut and salmon, and I saw some split fins on those lings...

From what I've read and seen they do very well.  I've caught many lings with split fins, bites out of their tails, bite marks on their bodies, scars that have healed...

I do like the point you raise, and I'm not opposed to changing my ways if it's shown that I'm f*#^ing the fish up.  Issues such as that are part of the reason I'm for setting some areas aside...  People have a hard time changing their destructive ways.

Ah, that feels good - to inject the morning with a little Abking style controversy.   

Thanks for understanding...also, I hate to say it, but hoisting by the gill plates might not be the best way to hold a soon-to-be-released fish, especially a heavy lingcod.

I know we all want cool pictures and measurements, but if it compromises the fish's health, it should be reconsidered - maybe just grabbing the hook and shaking the fish free would be sufficient?

All I know is that with the IPA recently adopted, we have fewer places to fish and the more fish we have in the water, the better our opportunities will be in the future.

Sweet video, made my day of sitting in a cube suck a bit less.
