My son and I are planning to hit Folsom lake this Sunday, 10/16/05.

around 7:30am. VHF  channel 69.

This will be our first outing with our old, but newly updated trailer.

Gonna do my best to be there Al, but can't promise.
I know it says the Hobie ramp is closed, but the last time I was there I literally parked on the pavement one foot from the waters edge. Go all the way back, past the main boat ramp. it should still be easy easy access and closer than close parking.

Hey Mike... Hope you can make it. I'll try that ramp. It was underwater a few months ago but the level has dropped.  Thanks.

Travis... Maybe next time. Have a good weekend.

Good luck fellas!

Last time I was there, the water was high and amazingly clear. I launched out of Granite Bay and fished along the  rock pile dam. I managed a dozen small mouths (on the small side) throwing a small terminator spinner bait on 6# line. I slowly drifted up and down the dam - about 20 ft from the rocks. I also hooked on a nice fat large mouth (4 -5 #)TWICE jigging a spoon right next to a submerged tree. The LM jumped completely out of the water and shook the spoon out of it's mouth. :smt013  The second time I hooked it, I got it close enough to see that it's mouth had so many holes from previous catch and release - must have been the reason why my lure did not stick :smt102

Anyway, have fun and please post pics if you can. I'll be making my way to the fresh water scene pretty soon  :smt023

Hey Al, Due to the GAF pressure Saturday morning with all the rain I am going to switch to salmon on Sunday. This might be my only weekend while the fish are still fresh. Good luck at Folsom. Of course we all expect a full report.

Hope you do well Mike. This cooler weather may pick up the salmon run in the American. If it does, I'll be down there next Sunday.

I'm tempted to go...my son has a race Saturday in Lodi.
I might skip this race.

You going Friday night or early Saturday?

As long as the ocean cooperates: EARLY Saturday. I found it a lot easier than dealing with traffic after work on Friday
