That's a good fish for the boat launch area. Nice and chunky.

My apologies in advance for stepping on your post, but since it was LOP, and the boats were at home...

I had the two boys out yesterday, right at sundown. What with hitting the swings at Sandy Point, and letting the three year old do a little fishing while I managed the one year old, I wound up with a couple minutes to fish. Luckily, after a swing and a miss on the first cast, I connected on the third cast. Easily a five pound fish. Long, but not super chunky. I managed to keep the three year old dry, but the one year old stepped in the water up to his knees while I'm attempting to lip the fish. Good times :) :)

The one year old was very interested in the big green funny animal, while his bigger brother was a bit intimidated. That was it for me - three casts = one miss and one nice LOP mamabass that went back in the water after a few seconds of show and tell. Looks like the coming weekend ought to be fine for fishing though. Time to break out the double-wide beaver...

No I haven't. Though I've actually seen a cat in the 10 pound range that a belly boater had pulled in. That was 6-7 years ago though, and I've not heard anything about folks catching catfish since then. Maybe I should soak some stink bait this summer?

I've also been told there's a whopper Koi in the lake, though I've not seen it. The Lake Committee wants it gone though...
