It's time to pull the handle and flush the status quo down the toilet. The current "Brotherhood" is broken and cannot be fixed.
So now the "only thing that's on my mind is who's gon run this town tonight? We are!"

Locals Only! If you don't live here...Don't even think of fishing here. Every spot is already claimed, heavily defended, and indeed to say "I own that spot" comes from some big frickin cajones, and not to quench any feelings of inferiority.

You wanna dare post a hookup? Better be for your spot motherf***er. Get togethers? I'll see you at the gym where we can pump iron to prepare for the next newbie beatdown. Written threats and taunts. Post for post. We control the weather with our bada**ness and don't you forget it.

You wanna fish? Fuggadebowdit! If you and your pansy friends even show up at the launch your nuts will be kicked 2x hard in every sense. Make sure you check your body weight and your yak for punctures below the waterline and don't worry.....we will stick around to pass out some more slaps and humiliation as you attempt to clean your pathetic catch.

Landing on the beach? Hey, that's maybe gonna be no problem. The problem will be when you find your car.....burnt to the pavement.
Ah.....the sacrifices to our local air quality. Another necessary evil and corollary of justice.

I reckon Jim has seen that antagonistic localism in the surf community, and he's giving us a sample of how it might find fertile ground among us fishing folks. I get it.

So... keep your best secrets to yourself, if you must. That's cool.

Don't ever assume that you have more right to fish a spot than any other fellow, even on his first day.

If someone has a different style, have a little grace about it, and let it be. As long as he's legal and safe.

If you must argue a point, do it with a civil tongue. Easy to burn hot on the computer, often it's better to wait a bit before you prove yourself to be an ass.

Above all, don't let anyone take your joy away.

Soon I'll be fishing in Mexico with some fine people, and their presence makes my fishing that much better.

My two cents.
Redyak and I have been surfing together for years from the top of Oregon, all of California, half way down Baja, and Hawaii. We have seen and been involved in localism, (not a pretty site)
To even see it start to rear it's ugly head in kayak fishing is sick and should be squashed now.
If you got a spot that you want to keep secret than keep it that way and Think about what you are going to say before typing.
