Congrats Eugene! I still remember my first halibut from the yak, too. Since it's one of the only fish I ever keep I still get that same adrenalin rush every time.

Here's to many more!

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

One happy smilethere.

WTG Eugene!!

where did you finally end up hooking him?

I'll be back out there on Saturday.

Good job amigo.
Allen

thanks all.  I was in about 35 FOW just to the pleasure point side of the radio towers.  Using live sardines on a halibut rig.  I have personally gone to the T shaped swivel instead of the "equal thirds" 3 way swivel.  Seems to cause less tangling.

the  0 for 11 thing sure sounds familiar. Oh ya, I just remembered , that's about where I'm at. I've had some messed up giant sardines that had those characteristic hali marks that were huge , like around thirty lbs.No hookup. Boy that hurts.
You've given me the courage to go on . Thanks.

SCAllen--have you scored this year yet or are you still sporting a beard like other years?

Yeah yeah congrats Eugene - blah blah blah (I'm just jealous  ;) )

Good for you! I am going out in Capitola this weekend.  Maybe the tides will change and I can catch my own hali.....I've been putting in my time this year, but apparently not enough yet!!

Kim
