I recently stumbled on a site called swellinfo.com - still getting used to the site but so far I like their swell and wind forecasting models - more importantly its been accurate the last 3 times I used it before heading out.

Noaa weather buoys post real-time data for wind, seas, and swell (but not wine).  Here's the Point Arena buoy:

Just go to their website and find the buoy for the area in question

all those are good but the best thing is to drive over look at the ocean take your yak down and throw it in

you get a lot more fishing time that way plus some self-rescue practice thrown in
