Sounds like a great event - nice work, Eric and all who participated.  Great pics as always, Sonny.   :smt001

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

Looks like a hot one!

Congrats to all who placed!

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Sorry, my oversight and mistake. I posted about other issues when I first should have said: "Good try and bravo to all who made the attempt.". We have all had our skunk days and I have had great days (like that 7-pound Vermillion while other on that trip got skunked) and I've had my disappointments. Trying is what counts--you cannot win the lottery if you don't go out there and buy a ticket ;-)

As someone once said: "that's why they call it fishing and not catching". But the real reward is in the attempt. I learned long ago that a a bad day kayak fishing, while not great, is still good day out kayaking. And that has made all the difference to me. I don't know any boat owner who didn't catch fish who said it was still a great day baoting after all the costs where added up. Kayaks are the new wave: "green fishing".

yeah, i went to this one to support eric, even though i knew pretty much from the beginning of the year that it would be a challenge to catch anything.  if i knew i would suck so bad at stripers i woulda targeted catfish!

plus its only an hour drive from my house and a cheap date at only $4 entry fee to the lake. much cheaper to me than driving all the way to linda mar. although the results dont quite match up  :smt002

the lake lice are just such a pain.

I guess I forgot to mention that you needed to sneak along the shore at night pulling plugs and cutting battery wires. It will keep a few extra boats off the water.    :smt044

LOL. Commando de-flea operations. A bit of C-4 and primer and its all done. of course we need camo kayaks, rebreathers and night vision googles--but Cabelas has all that these days  ;-)
