Pedro is usually a lot of work. Nice job.  How big was the ling? Just curious I think the biggest have seen out of there is 12 and the majority are 8lbs.

Wait, aren't you breaking some kind of vow or something...?
Good to hear you got out & caught some fresh fish for the family.

no size on the ling, a few of the rockies surprisingly good for a spot so picked over

I saw a guy pick up a decent one when I was coming back into the cove   Not that long but fat, looked like 10-12 lbs

pisciform enough is enough on the rockies but if I don't bring home food I'll be cut off by the chief

I've got a feeling there are some whoppers out there but probably more for the divers.  I don't think we can reach them because they are tucked in pretty far under the ship wreck and the few caves that are around the corner.

Way to get out there Paul. I've been mulling over the idea of a LM session after work one of these days, what with my working for a client in Foster City quite a bit recently.

As for sizable LM fish, something frigging huge rocked me on the south side of Pedro a few years ago. I was in shallow, so it could have been a cabby. Whatever it was, it peeled off line for a couple seconds then "Pop!". When I reeled up the fluorocarbon leader was just shredded. This one fish is why I now use gear designed for big lings whenever I'm vertically jigging. None of this 20 lb test leader nonsense...

Nice chatting with you out there. It was a beautiful day to be out on the water, glad you took advantage of it.  I tried to hail you on the radio later in the day to no avail.
