I completely removed it from my boats.  Never found a use for it.  Actually was a great place to snag hooks :smt012

I modified the bungies on my boat in AK. I actually split it so that a very short length right behind the seat retains the tacklebox/rodholders, and a longer length runs just like stock, only it's a lot tighter.

The cord further to the rear retains buoys. It's not like a decent sized fish is going to fit back there, so I might as well use the space for something. Besides, fish stays in much better condition soaking on a stringer, well bled.

I don't recommend this habit down here though :)

Pulled mine off the tankwell (P15) a day after I bought it and then added criss-cross cords on the deck in a few places. Like the new P-Trident-15 has.
