It looks like Wednesday morning will be beautiful so I will be spending the morning on the bay.  Launching Del Monte Beach (MBK) by 7am.  Company welcome.

Launched from Del Monte, then to red can to north at 9.  Foggy, but decent vis.  No luck there, and wind started at 10, enuf to make the drift too fast.
Trying toget out of the wind, I headed to just  beyond the aquarium (to paraphrase Willie sutton, "because that's where the fish are." ) in 80 ft of water.  Lots of decent size blues, one brown, one missed huge hitchhiking ling.   Fog thickened and wind made it cold.  Headed back at 1.
If you don't mind rolling your boat a couple of blocks, there's some free no limit parking a couple blocks up behind  McDonalds.
I got back to Santa Cruz where it was sunny all day. I was using shrimp flies with pieces of squid and at times a root beer jig and a diamond bar,   all fish on flies.
  Good luck!

I am hunting halibuts still so I will be hitting the Plaza hotel and the Monterey Beach hotel sand.

Wednesday is supposed to be lots nicer than today.......we'll see.  Thanks for the report.  It's funny how one week the blues want nothing but swimbaits, the next week, nothing but squid and the following week they jump in your boat......... :smt005

Next week I hope to take a newbie co-worker out of Lover's point.  There always seems to be LOADS of rockfish and the launch/landing will be gentle.

I wonder how I mooch mooch's "borrow" boat......... :smt017
