Dropped the Hobie at the pier.
Headed north and found bait in the kelp
Fished between the pier and one mile buoy with a sardine.  Rod bounced a few times and I set the hook.  The fight was on.  Closed the gap by 10 feet.  It wanted no part of that, swung me around and dove under the yak.  Drag set high and lost control as it went under the rig.  I could only hang on.  Then the inevitable, line goes limp.
Was well worth it though and I will be back this weekend for more.  This was my only landing and he wanted no part of the boat.  Very typical for these guys once you let them go on your boat.  I forgot about how strong the cups are.
