Rebuilding my kit, last year I put everything on the curb for free. Some lucky guy and his gal scooped everything. Remind me never to do that again.
Items needed:
4mm wetsuit 2xl?
vhf                                  new paddle (using my paddles from 1996)
lip gripper                       crab pot
new yak...(in my dreams)

my son and I have rented an OB several times, we like it a lot better than the Sport  (we are both over 6' tall).  we are going to try a revolution before we decide between the OB and Revo.

That's is the best way to do it.  Try both to see which one best fit your style of fishing.

I did purchase a Pro Angler without trying one.  no one had one to try and I figured if the OB was stable the PA would be moreso.  I am pretty happy with the PA so far, the OB or Revo will be for my son.

 Ditto,

I have 2 and 2 sports,  (I should really have cut and pasted stuff I've written before  :smt011)

All I have time for right now is to say, try them all, revo, adventure... but I still like the Outback just for it's stability and comfort...

That being said, I see more revo's than outbacks....  try-em!!!!

I just bought a new Hobie Revolution last week from California Canoe and Kayak in Oakland. I mainly do ocean fishing.
I did a test drive on both on two separate ocassions.  My findings, Outback if you are just going to peddle it works great and very stable.
But I took it out to the middle of the estuary channel with a slight breeze blowing maybe 5 knots or less.  It was a bit difficult to paddle felt heavy when I locked the peddles on off position. The Revolution, easy to both peddle and paddle. I got pretty comfortable with its stability in no time. Try them both, sit side saddle, rock it.  CA Canoe and Kayak is great place to do this, they are right next to the water and have great customer service.  Free test drives on all their boats.
