Hey Brother Allen... yes, I'll be there. Same as last year, I'll be offering the use of three of my Scupper Pro's to anyone needing a kayak to borrow (not rent) I'll provide... So far..., so so year, but July is "up"!!! Lot's of folks on holiday, looking for something new, but more importantly, lot's of locals just interested in what we do and wanting to get a taste... Allen, you're the man!!! Thanks for all you do... Look forward to seeing you and sharing all that's going on w/biz w/you...

What I like is a 1 ounce weight in a  red or white hoochie with a 7/0 hook and a glob of squid, sometimes just the head and tentacles. Despite the large hook it hardly ever misses, even on dinks. Good for occasional halibut too.
There are a lot of spots out in front of the SC light house on the reef.  Go where everybody else goes. A mile out at the end of the reef I had my best day ever, could not get a metal jig to bottom without a hookup . Never seen it like that since, sometimes nothing. Talked to a guy at a cleaning station last week who had the same thing happen , said he could have caught fifty (or did catch 50?),he Kept a limit ,blacks and two vermillion. I've seen it wide open  at different places on that reef and two days later, nothing. Not even anything on the fishfinder.
If you could make it up there, on most days you would have a free ride home when the wind comes up with the possibility of some productive drift fishing.
There is a reef about 2/3  of the way to the mile marker from the SC harbor off to the east  about a 1/4 mile. Usually there will be  a boat or two there or sometimes a sea otter or a crab trap.
