Took girlfriend fishing for the first time on salt, saturday she landed a butt 23"! Only landed one of the weekend.  Both of us had several takedowns, and scratched baits.  Used shiners from loch lomond.  heading back Sunday I think, I got a plan to get those short strikes!  Anyhow, we fished until noon both days, then the wind blew us off.  Sunday was a HUGE tide, but what do you do when you are there? You fish.  Anyhow, she is hooked big time.  We are going back to caples on friday, and doing the trout thing.  I am going to try a day soak on some more crawdad traps, then Saturday off to cabelas for some much needed gear.
On another note, on the way back home, on 37, my yak shot off the rack on top of my truck! Luckily, nobody was hit, and no accidents, the yak went off into the bushes.  It put two small holes where my transducer bolted on the stern, I think I can patch it, but major bummer.  If anyone has a way to patch small holes, please let me know.

Dude, highway 37 is a very busy road. Thank God that is all that happened.
A couple of holes on the yak that could be fixed. WTG on your
girlfriend landing some halibut.

Nice work getting her on a halibut.  Regarding the wayward kayak you are very fortunate ...I always seem to have someone nearby with a camera when I have a new "experience" :smt003

Paradise is off paradise drive near Tiburon, so I would say about 12-15 windy miles.  Make sure you fill your bait bucket because it will slosh around.  I will be there again Sunday if you want to go Andy.

hey, good report, Montana.  Sounds like you have those butts dialed in.   Sorry to hear about the flying yak, but luckily the damage is repairable and nobody got hurt.

Andy I have a better spot than bolinas for sharks and rays, and possibly a stray halibut.  It is closer to us than bolinas, so we will have to hit it up and try it.  I have only banked it, but drifting some squid will be fun.  I will keep you posted on that.
