what size paddle should i get for paddling a mali x factor? longer then the norm since its a wider yak right?thanks

I paddle an X I use a 240 if your under 6' I would try a 230 first

there are formulas to get a general paddle length according to your height & armspan, but since as you mention the width of your kayak comes into play along with paddling style, I prefer to just demo a handful of paddles. Any reputable paddle shop will allow you to do this if you are looking to drop $200+/-
I tried out 4 different paddles from cheap to full carbon at Kayak Connection in Santa Cruz the last time I was "in the market"

I am 5'7" I am using a 240CM I tried a 230 but I felt much comfortable with 240 since I am using a RIDE 135 which has 32" width, you should try different paddles and trust me you'll be happy if you find that one fits you..
