Maybe you could return it. How long have you owned it? That seems like a manufacture defect, especially if you've had it less than a year or so.

well heres the deal, ive only used it for 3 trips.... before that i was told it only had a month of use on it, MBK screwed up and sold me a orange kayak, which i wanted, but when I came to pick it up it was yellow, so they threw in a free paddle, after i asked.... Sooooooo it is what it is...

When i took allens class a month or two ago, when i was really a noob, i got spoiled with some crazy carbon fiber NICE paddle, one piece. At the time i just didnt know the difference, it was alll the same to me... Then I got the freebi paddle, and I immediately noticed the difference..... sure wish  I could afford the carbon fiber like allen lent me, NICE!!

The stub where it connects at the middle is a little short in my opinion. I have a pretty big reach, i held the paddle pretty far out on the edges.... it just didnt hold up, ity was in nice shape when i got it??

I can repair your paddle do not remove blades!!!! It will be around five to six inches shorter but it beats buying A new one.. Problem is I dont know when im going to SC....Andy

If you post the repair technique here then maybe he can fix it himself.  Will it still be 2 pieces (detachable) or just a single piece paddle after repaired?

Hey porky, you've been doing a lot of fishing lately. Sorry about you broken
paddle dude. I hope you can get it fixed so you can have a back up inside the
yak. Anyhow, perhaps it's time to travel up north a little bit for some rockfish
action like BH or HMB. Just a thought bro.

Hello porky. :smt006 I have never done BH myself. To be honest, BH is the last
place I want to kayak fish just because of the launch and landing but there has
been some awesome report each time people went. I wish there was a newbie
launch around the area I can go so I can participate on the next hookup. Good
luck next time bro.
