1#.The good kayak angler doesn't leave home unprepared. He always has all the right tackle and the freshest & friskiest bait. If a bait up and dies you can be sure his c.p.r. and mouth to mouth resuscitation skills are unequaled. He's ready to roll out a plan with intel gleaned from every source. Yakkers, Bankies, Pb's, Rangers, the Wind & the Moon, Lat, Long, Depth. His batteries fully charged, his homeworks done, he's got a backup plan for his contingency plan. Momma doesn't need to be told there will be fish for dinner.....she's already gettin the pan hot and the beer cold.
2#.The good kayak angler always keeps an eye on conditions. When the waters about to lay down.....He's poised ready to swoop. Water temp's coming up & tides looking good.....He's on it. All the spots you'd never dream of pulling fish from.....He's scoring. He'll be up for the early bite even if he is so sick he has to be wrapped in a blanket and bundled into a car, but get him OTW and he'll be killing it.....in between trying to stiffle the spew rising from his gut.
3#.The good kayak angler doesn't go anywhere without his yak & some gear. His wetsuit and pfd are like his second skin. He trains for the day his yak sinks and he can swim in, go home, and say " Honey I need a new yak.".....and all new gear. If he somehow misses a hot bite he will give those that scored their props, but let any swine go over board on the bragging, and he will press his thumbs into their necks. Rest assured, he knows he missed out, and will do his best to make sure it doesn't happen ever again.
4#.The desire to fish the worlds best waters vibrates thru the good kayak anglers body as indeed, he is attuned to the very frequency of the fish themselves. He is a maniacal saver as gear upgrades, gas, & bait are his priorities. To the good kayak angler a hundred bucks spent on a night getting wasted in a bar represents fishing days lost in Baja or AK. Paradoxically, he cannot work a job that doesn't leave time for plenty of fishing, even if the pay is good.
5#.The good kayak angler helps his fellow paddlers. He's ready to assist when launching and is ready with the video when others are landing. Yardsale! He shares bait, beer, and makes time to stand up for everyone's fishing rights. Although he knows, follows, and promotes the reg's, he's also always ready to shout down any anti-fishing baloney. He know the "good old days", for him, are right now. It's his passion to make stars of these fish. On the Web and on his family's plates.

Tongue in cheek, Sailman. Kinda. :smt003 A tribute of sorts to the AOTY maniacs on here. I certainly don't ever feel like I'm a good kayak angler. Maybe someday I will grow up into one. :smt005 Oh no! My wife just read the kayak sinking and needing a new one part. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :smt013 :smt013 :smt013

Thanks! I liked it! I came to this site like a open book and am writing down all this good info down! Appreciate it bro. Thanks.
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan
