Water was clear, calm as glass and no wind to speak of..  Launched to Lake like conditions and hunted for Halibut in 8-10 feet which for LM is some pretty good vis. Bounced various jigs in the sand between rock outcroppings but nothing stirred.  A few divers shot a couple there last week.  Fished the wreck and other various spots for two hours only to catch 2 under lings.  Whales were close and amazing to see, they have been hanging around for a few weeks.

One interesting note was a crab fisherman snagged a baby GW shark in his crab pot and released it.  I thought this guy was nuts and probably snagged a spiny dog fish or other shark species. However, he produced pictures and up close  shots of the teeth and I guess he wasn't lying.  It was about 3 feet long.

that'll be a salmon shark, not a GWS.

they look the same... but more needle like teeth.

the young of a GWS are bigger than 3 feet...

the young of the salmon shark are 3 feet...

I ran into a beached salmon shark pup on wadell beach last year and posted about that and included some pics and facts I found.

good to hear from you jason, :-). I hear the salmon are coming back next year, :-)
