Looks great.  The only thing I see is that you need two of the same size milk crates to make the lid fit properly.  I would have done this if I didn't have a spot for everything already.

Agreed, fortunately, we didn't have that problem.  I just asked the manager at the local Smart and Final if I could have a few milk crates for the kayaks and he said sure and gave them to me.  :smt002

The only thing I'd change is to put a more sturdy latch on the lid. I don't think that single bungee is going to hold the lid closed in a whomper wave/ wipeout situation. I think something like a fastex buckle would be perfect.

I dunno, we put a single bungee just wrapped so it anchors on the lid and both hooks attached to the side of the crate, that lid is not moving.  At least with just a serious pull test.  But, even with the one bungee, it is better then an open top  :smt002
