I would like one "easy launch" and the other can be intermediate to difficult. Both must be saltwater/ocean and not bay.

Mklien,

As for easy launches.

#1 would be going over to Ft. Baker and launching from the marina. No waves whatsoever. From there paddle over to the North Tower and you're likely to land a few lings next to the north tower.

#2 launching from the Ft Pt Beach (just before turning into the parking lot). The waves here are small and it's not too far to the South Tower where there's a reef and resident rockfish.

You'll see small PB's working the both areas at the open of the rockfish season. At this time, both areas have been pretty worked over by now.

Intermediate Launch

Launch from China Beach and work the rocks under Veteran's Hopital and Seal Rock. The party boats work this area when the tide is right. Stick close to shore, and you'll escape the strong currents of the outgoin tide that will take you south all the way to Pacifica if you let it.

If you're ready to go out, give me a hollar. Thinkin bout headin out this Sunday.

I've never caught a keeper rockfish south of Point Reyes. For decent rockfishing I launch from beaches north of Bodega.
Carmet Beach can be easy in light swell, with a slightly tricky wave that rolls right on the beach. It's so small that it mostly
tips you over and is no big deal, on nice days.

Goat Rock Park is a nice launch and you can catch halibut, salmon, rockfish and crabs depending on the time of year.
Bodega Bay is okay, but you will have to get around the point to catch decent fish. I have caught some okay lings and Vermillon out front with an occasional greenling if you fish real close in, like right in the rocks off the beach.
