I sat in that Ride at Aquan. I'm tall 6'3" and had to put the foot braces / rudder controls out to the last stop. This did not allow the rudder to have full range of motion. Something to keep in mind if you are tall.

Does everyone use a rudder?

No, My understanding is that it depends on how well the boat tracks, its length and your personal preference. Not all boats have that option. The pros can give you a better answer. It does add a lot to the cost. Coast hugging off Capitola, my guess would be it's not necessary

I don't use mine often, but I really like having it when I do. Wind, weird currents, etc is when it's come in handy for me.

You could do without, but you could do without power steering on your car too

under General Fishing Tips there is a kayaking fishing seminar @ Aquan in San Carlos. I know it's a ways from Capitola, but it doesn't start till 6PM

Yeah, im gonna try to make the class at Aquan, if work permits, also i have a clinic on the water with Allen on saturday.. cant wait!

How much - $$ - is the clinic?

it was $120 if there was four clients going out... Like $160 or something if less...

Thas is ballpark figure as I dont have the exact cost yet....

I'm thinking of hitting Capitola on Sunday.  Where is a good place to park if I'm going to be out for 4-6 hours?

Well theres meters, on cliff drive, right there on the main hill (area A on map)

or you can park at The SHadowbrook parking lot and walk down.

Or you can park at my pad (B on map)

OR if you get there early theres a few meter spots right there befor you get onto the pier!
