If anyone is available, I just drove over to the ARW and the water is like glass with the low tide topping at 10 am. There are a bunch of party type boats out there as well. I will be going out this morning, and if anyone has time to join, see you there.

Hey Ernest,

Well I got out on the water at around 10 yesterday and there were several boats in the vicinity, two were party boats. I didnt run into or see any other kayaks on the water. I fished with live shiners, and of course, caught another one of my favorites again, a bat ray, which gave a pretty good tow, since my wife was not in the kayak this time. I dont know what it is, everyone catches a nice medley of shark, halibut, stripers, you name it, and I seem to always get the the bat rays, fourth one now. So, I didnt get a halibut or miss a hit from one this time, but the boats I spoke with had landed quite a few, and they were using frozen anchovies, go figure. A lot of the boaters said the bite was on around seven to eightish in the morning, and then kind of slumped off there after. I would say that the early morning is the sure ticket there. One thing I did notice is that the schools of anchovies are in the bay, as the pelicans and hundreds of cormorants were in full affect chasing schools and dive bombing on them. A lot of boaters were surrounding the swarm and chucking bait and lures into the mass. It was a ways off, and the wind started up pretty strong right at noon, so I couldnt join the chase, but a cool sight it was. Im oncall for work this weekend, but may try to join you if I can. Ill probably try to catch some live shiners again later this evening.
