Hi NCKA,

Just signed up for this forum after Kayak fishing over the last year, one of my fishing friends introduced it to me a bit ago. I enjoyed the photos and stories and thought I could add a few.

Mostly fishing for rock fish last year and recently trying for Halibut, we fish HMB, LMB, MB, ARW, Emeryville flats and Paradise with a bunch of other places on the list to try. Really love the Ocean and the excitement of the surf launching and landing (up to a point).

Anyways never really posted anything before so lets see how it works out, attached (hopefully) are a few pictures from last year and the start of this year.

Whats the button with "insert image" can't seem to make it do what I want. I bet there is an explanation somewhere on how to do this.

Well here goes test one let's see what happens.

Welcome! Looks like you got what it takes. The best way to post pics is to use image shack. The will host and give you the url that you can insert between the two "[img]" things when you click the insert image tab above

That second halibut looks to be very large. If thats a kayak halibut, you are the man! How long / weight was that monster? Where were they caught. Welcome to the site. Sharing basic info and pics are way cool. What knid of platform do you fish from? Again, welcome.Craig

Nice pictures Tsuri! Fellas if you want to see large Halibut caught off a kayak this is the dude to hang out with. He was mostly a shore rockfisherman untill last year but he has proven to have great skills in the Rockfish, Halibut and Crab departments.

Craig I know for a fact that the larger halibut was caught from a kayak because I had the honor of gaffing it for him.

Glad you signed up Tsuri!

Thanks everyone,

Yes it was from a OK Prowler 13, 38" inches caught on the Marin coast, the smaller one we caught at Paradise two weeks earlyer (in the rain on the hail Mary drift) it was 31". We didn't weigh the larger one but the smaller one was around 13#.

Otter expertly gaffed and set them on the game clip for me, seeing as how they were my first two Halibut from a Kayak I wanted to keep them and not loose a wounded fish. Next time I think I got it.

EWB thanks for the info on the picture posting I'll try out that Image Shack.

I am looking forward to fishing some of the local Rock Fish spots soon.

See you all out there,

-Tsuri
