Arrived Friday around 3pm, didn't see Mickfish anywhere but saw his yak in camp 81 so I started unloading and rigging up.  Soon Mike returns from his minnow run, and we launched from the north end with things looking overcast but fairly calm.

It got windy and nasty really fast, though...

Mike managed a few fish despite the conditions, here's one:

Then we headed back to camp, tired wet and hungry.  Mike's a good guy to camp with.  Not only did he bring some pre-split oak firewood and lighter fluid, but he also had two smoked chicken halves...  and some Russian beer I couldn't pronounce...

Next thing I know it's Saturday AM and I hear Mike heading off to fish...  I slept just a leetle longer and met Sean and Mike already fishing...  Mike already has a couple fish logged, of course...  I didn't do great, but did manage a small smallie and striper, and lost one largemouth at the boat.

Headed in I guess around Noon, wet and tired again...  Sean had gone home, Mike took off, and no sign of Melissa or Freddie on the VHF so I ate a hot meal and took a nap, waiting for the rain to clear.  And it finally DID!  Around 4 I launched and it was calm and flat...  the paddle up the creek channel was beautiful, and the fresh forest and wildflower scent was crazy.

But I didn't catch anything else...  only signs of life were the huge carp that were slupring around the bouy line aling the north shore.

Ate.  Slept.  Sunday slept late and bailed for home.

It looks like the ocean out there, way to stick it out.
And how right you are about camping with Mike, it does not suck at all, next time I promise to bring a big fat steak.

What a difference a day makes. I got skunked on Sunday afternoon, but at least the weather cooperated!

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
