Fished 7-3 before the heavy rain hit.  Caught 21 SMBs and a few LMBs ranging 7"-12.75". Not much size but they were fun on a light rod and it was a great peaceful day on the water before the storm.

FYI - flipped burgers on Saturday to help my Dad and his buddies at a car show in Copperopolis.  Show was held at an interesting spot as there is some new construction along Hwy 4 where they have built a town square with all buildings built to look like an old western town. Ate at a good Italian restaurant there on Friday night called Panini's - all dishes $12-20 with a nice bar.  Usual assortment of shops going in, not all places filled yet.  I, or any of my family and friends,  don't have a vested interest in any of these places - just thought I would post up the restaurant for folks who might be fishing or road-tripping in the area - maybe emergency WAF/GAF at the shops!  Located on Hwy 4 just west of the O'Byrnes Ferry Road turn.

Take care - John

Nice! Ive always wanted to kayak fish that lake but never have gotten out there. Nice to see some fish come out of there. Not a good lake to fish in the summer with all the lake lice. Thanks for the report

Way to go on the smallies that used to be one of the Best Smallie lakes around good to know the numbers are still there.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I miss passing through there each time I visited my in laws on our way up to
Sonora. They sold their house and moved to Monterey. One day I'd like to fish
that lake too. Not on weekends though, it's like a zoo there in the summer.
Thanks for the  report.
