Had a few things to do at home so didn't get on the water until 9, fished till 1:45 when wind started to PU. First time on this water, really beautiful lake with lots of bassy areas - coves and rocky areas.  Only bummer was it cost $12 for the day! Trolled up the east side of the north arm with plugs and then tucked into a cove.  Saw several large LMBs cruising in 6-12 ft of water.  Caught a 13" RB trout trolling a shad rap. No luck with plugs and t-rigged worms on bass. Water had ~10 ft visibility. Switched to a drop shot with a 6" roboworm on 8# fluoro and caught a 16" LMB.  Nice day on the water.

Craig - it would a good spot for a weekend trip as long as there wasn't some big tournament going on.  Definitely would be better to fish the week days if we could catch a thur-fri or mon on either end of the weekend.  Drove through the campground near the marina, pretty basic but OK, there was a small group of sites in the corner under some nice shade trees that looked good for a group (One site was #55).  Easy cart to launch. There's a coffee shop and marina. I definitely want to fish it again, lots of great structure - was runnin & gunnin a bit yesterday just to cover some ground and explore the area.  Lots of nice bass around rock and downed tree structure. A few locals fishing said the bass fishing will get really good in about 3 weeks.  Maybe some others more knowledgeable on this lake can chime in here. I'd be up for a camping trip.  John

I've fished Pardee may times with my old Valco PB, never with the kayak. It's a nice, well maintained lake. We would usually fish the near the bluffs where the river comes into the lake. Small mouth bass and trout in that area. I understand there are kokes in front of the dam, but I've never caught one there.

Thanks for the report,
Al

Bassmanben - no problem on the "inspection". Had the kayak on the racks on top of truck.  Pulled up to trailer, filled out a quick form about where I had been recently fishing, guy walked to side of truck and said "looks good, I don't see any water in the hull."  I was expecting them to have me unload the boat to check for moisture in the hull but all he said was he'd see water through the hull given that the sun was shining on the hull.

AL - Thanks for the info.
