Went out a few days ago with my buddy to go play around with the bluegills at one of our local spots we fish together. Bite is WFO, lol, we must have caught and released well over 75 sunfish of 3 different variety. Lots of fun. Hope you guys enjoy the pics...

Nice!
Looks like a fun time .
I grew up fishing panfish down south in Cachuma Lake. I spent a lot of summer days in Harvey's cove with a handline!

Cachuma Lake
I spent quite a bit of time in Solvang and I love that lake fished it every chance I had.

Looks like Antioch bridge.

I miss fishing like I did when I was a kid.  Some nightcrawlers caught the night before, some hooks and sinkers, and a bicycle.  Whatever decided to eat the worm was allright with me.  I didn't care how much they weighed or what species.  If I didn't catch anything, I had just as much fun throwing rocks, playing with my pocket knife, or trying to catch some kind of critter.  Good times.

It goes for miles like that. We have pulled some nice bass out of there in past years and have seen some huge carp cruising as well. I have thought about yaking it a few times!

hey, Jeff -   good times dont get much better than that, catching fish with an old buddy.  There is something about fishing for blue gills - pure joy down to the core of our being.   Most of us probably started out on blue gills when we were little tots, and after so many years, so many miles, and so many fish, going back to our roots touches something deep within us.   Nothing can bring out that carefree childhood laughter better than a swarm of eager blue gills.

Thanks for sharing.  You brought back happy memories for so many of us.

Lawrence
