Thanks for the kind words guys! Yeah this fish reminded me of the quality you would see later in the summer or fall when things go off at seal rock or on the north bar. I've only ever fished those areas in a party boat but when it happens it can be an epic bite in terms of quantity and quality.

Credit really does go to Mike because he was the one who wanted to try Muir beach. I told him it was early still and we should probably hit the bay instead but since it was his birthday I didn't argue too much.

Shows what I know, sheesh!

wow...i tried muir 4 or 5 times last year for hali. lots of near misses with shredded smelt and shiners. always ended up with a few rockies from either side of the cove. now you've sparked my interest and ill be back. well done.
