Its time to start thinking roadtrip. I cant tell which way would be faster. I think higway 101, would be faster but im not sure. I am coming from Salinas. Google maps tells me to go down highway 1, but I know sometimes they are full of $hit. Who has made the trip from this area? All info appreciated...Andy

Take HW101 all the way and exit at Garberville.  Turn left at Redway and you will arrive SC after 22 miles of beautiful scenic road.

Sonny's got it right.  Whatever you do, do NOT take the "Usal Road"!!!

Teaser:  Domenic had the grand idea to make some video of the route so as to assist the rural-road-challenged.  Keep an eye out for it...   :smt001

And don't take highway 1 unless you've got lot's of time and like turning a lot.

Exactly, for 101 you'll need A LOT of time, like winding roads & don't get car-sick easily - even worse if you're towing anything.

The road to Bear's too obvious.   :smt002
